Mason Mount's Chelsea Future 'In Doubt' As Blues Unwilling To Treble Wages
Mason Mount's Chelsea future 'in doubt' amid contract saga

Mason Mount’s future at Chelsea is in doubt after the England international rejected a new contract that didn’t match his wage demands according to the Daily Mail.

The report claimed that Mount wants to treble £80,000-a-week wages which would be in line with the deal Reece James signed back in September. However, the club reportedly offers him much less.

The player is less sure about his future at the club after a massive transfer spree and reports that the Blues might have to sell some of their academy graduates to deal with the Financial Fair Play.

Mount’s poor form is not helping the matter. Since October 16, he has registered only one direct goal contribution, scoring against Bournemouth in a 2-0 win on December 27.

Mount still has 18 months remaining on his current contract, so there’s plenty of time for an agreement to be reached.

However, with Chelsea splashing over £300 million on new players in January alone, Mount will be looking for a strong sign that he’s integral to the club’s future plans.
