Sergio Aguero Speaks On How He Made Lionel Messi Angry With World Cup Celebration

Manchester City legend Aguero has opened up on what he did during Argentina World Cup final celebrations at the Lusail Stadium that got Lionel Messi angry.
Recall that Aguero retired from football in 2021 after a heart problem was detected during his short stint at Barcelona.
Aguero made headlines for storming the Lusail Stadium with a drum after Argentina dethroned France as world champions, leading the celebrations for the South American giants.
His overzealous celebrations amused everyone bar his bosom friend and eventual tournament best player, Lionel Messi.
According to the 34-year-old, he was slightly intoxicated and hence threw caution to the wind with his wild celebrations. “I drank a lot but I didn’t eat. We were world champions. If something were to happen to me, let it be there. Leo (Messi) got angry and told me ‘stop’. How stop? We are world champions, so happy…” he said on Twitch as quoted by Roy Nemer.

Aguero was pictured with Messi on his back during the celebrations last month, and now in an online Twitch stream with fans he joked that his good friend almost put him in hospital as he carried him around.
“I lifted the best in the world,” he said, via TyC Sports.
“Of course, my back hurt a lot. When I raised him I said: ‘S***. He weighs’.
“I moved my shoulders so that he would jump, but they started to get some stitches in my back.
“At one point I couldn’t take it anymore. I couldn’t even turn around. If I turned around, I would end up in a hospital.
“He realised it because I looked at him, we exchanged glances.
“I said: ‘All good, you’re world champion, but my back hurts.’ And there he got off. He was on his knees afterwards.”
Aguero later took to Twitter to send a message to his pal about his success, with the former Argentina international spotted with the World Cup and saying he felt like he still was part of the team.
