REVEALED: Lukaku Decision Over Chelsea Return After Mauricio Pochettino Call
Romelu Lukaku is reportedly set to stay away from Chelsea despite Mauricio Pochettino’s call for him to return to pre-season training.
Lukaku has been linked with a move away from Chelsea since the end of last season when he made a controversial interview in which he expressed his unhappiness at Stamford Bridge.
The Belgian striker has since been linked with a return to Inter Milan, and it is believed that he is keen to force a move back to the Serie A club.

Chelsea have so far refused to sell Lukaku, but they are reportedly willing to listen to offers of around £40 million.
However, Inter are only willing to offer around £23 million for the striker, and it is unclear whether they will be able to raise their offer enough to convince Chelsea to sell.
In the meantime, Lukaku is reportedly refusing to return to Chelsea’s pre-season training. This is despite Pochettino’s request that he return to the club and “fight for his place”.
Lukaku is said to be unhappy with the way he has been treated by Chelsea since his controversial interview, and he is not willing to return to the club unless he is guaranteed a starting place.

It remains to be seen whether Chelsea will eventually sell Lukaku, but it is clear that the striker is not happy at Stamford Bridge and he is keen to force a move away.
If he does not return to pre-season training, it could damage his chances of leaving the club this summer.
Lukaku’s contract
Lukaku is under contract with Chelsea until 2026, so the club has the upper hand in any negotiations. However, if Lukaku continues to refuse to return to training, Chelsea could be forced to sell him for a lower price than they would like.
Inter Milan’s interest
Inter Milan are still interested in signing Lukaku, but they are not willing to pay Chelsea’s asking price of £40 million. It is possible that Inter could raise their offer, but it is also possible that they will give up on the deal.

Lukaku’s future
It is unclear what the future holds for Lukaku. He could eventually return to Chelsea, but it is also possible that he will be sold to another club. If he is sold, it is likely that he will move to a club in Italy or Spain.
Lukaku’s decision to stay away from training is a risky one –He is putting his future at Chelsea in jeopardy, and he could also damage his reputation. If he does not return to training, it could be difficult for him to find a new club.
Chelsea are in a difficult position –They want to sell Lukaku, but they also do not want to sell him for a low price. They need to find a way to resolve the situation that is fair to both parties.
The situation is likely to drag on for some time –It is possible that Lukaku will not return to training until the end of the transfer window. If he does not return, Chelsea will have to make a decision about whether to keep him or sell him.
