Despite the intriguing interest from the Spanish capital, Nigel James remains confident that his son’s future lies with Chelsea.

In an interview with The Beautiful Game podcast, Nigel James shared his reaction to Real Madrid’s interest, saying, “I was just gobsmacked. I don’t read things anymore because, until someone contacts me or informs the people I work with, I don’t take it seriously. Reece is a top player, so I’m sure many clubs would want to sign him. But for now, I don’t see anything changing.”

Highlighting Reece’s loyalty to Chelsea, Nigel added, “He is a Chelsea player, and unless Chelsea wants to sell him, it’s like anything else. If a club no longer wants to work with you and decides to get rid of you, then you move on. But if they want you… Reece has been at Chelsea since he was six years old. His ambition is to wear the armband and captain the side. The previous season was heartbreaking for him.”

Despite enduring a challenging season like most players at Chelsea, Reece faced additional obstacles due to knee and hamstring injuries, limiting his Premier League starts to just 14.

As a Chelsea academy graduate, he will be aiming to reclaim his position as the first-choice right-back in the upcoming campaign.

However, the arrival of Malo Gusto from Lyon provides healthy competition for the right-back position following the departure of Cesar Azpilicueta.

Reece James’ future at Chelsea remains secure, and the club will be counting on his immense talent and determination to contribute significantly to their success.

As the new season approaches, all eyes will be on Reece as he aims to fulfill his aspirations and cement his place as a key figure in the Chelsea squad.
