Premier League Confirms “Bad Luck’ Referee Who Has Already Angered Gunners For Crucial Arsenal vs Liverpool Clash

Paul Tierney, the officiating referee for the crucial game between Liverpool and Arsenal may prove to be an unpopular man at Anfield this weekend,
Arsenal are tantalizingly close to clinching their first Premier League title in 19 years, with just nine games standing in their way.
The Gunners have an eight-point lead over Manchester City after beating Leeds on Saturday.
Although Pep Guardiola’s squad has a game in hand, victory would only reduce the gap to five points. The season’s climax promises to be thrilling, with the two teams set to face off in Manchester later this month.
But first, Mikel Arteta’s squad must conquer Anfield and defeat Liverpool this weekend. A victory over the Reds would send a resounding message of intent as Arsenal navigate one of their most challenging remaining fixtures.
However, the Gunners have already been dealt an early setback with the announcement of the match officials for the Merseyside clash.
Paul Tierney will referee the game, with Craig Pawson acting as the fourth official and Chris Kavanagh manning the VAR room.
Arsenal fans will undoubtedly recall their recent history with Tierney, as the Gunners haven’t secured a win under his watch since the 3-1 victory at Leicester City in February 2021, losing their last five encounters.

The latest defeat came during the FA Cup exit at Man City, \back in September, Tierney took charge of Arsenal’s trip to Old Trafford to play Manchester United. The game ended up 3-1 to the home team as Mikel Arteta’s side suffered their first league defeat of the campaign.
He made headlines for disallowing Gabriel Martinelli’s goal at Old Trafford and infamously sending Rob Holding off in last season’s pivotal North London derby defeat at Tottenham.
Holding is anticipated to maintain his position at the core of Arsenal’s defence, partnering with Gabriel Magalhaes.
The Englishman has stepped up in William Saliba’s absence due to ongoing injury woes.
