Man City Targets Chilwell, Lukaku In Deal For Osimhen, And Other Under-Radar Chelsea Stories Today

Infoexpert24 brings you the latest news, rumors, gossip, and all the under-radar stories about Chelsea football club for today, Friday 10th February 2023.
Man City targeting Chilwell
As per Times Sport, Manchester City have Ben Chilwell listed as one of their top priority targets for the next transfer window.
Fabrizio Romano mentioned that Man City have a long-standing interest in Chilwell, but that he’s just one of several names being considered by the Premier League champions ahead of the summer.
Chilwell has had some good moments in a Chelsea shirt, but he’s also had numerous issues with injuries which have disrupted his career at Stamford Bridge.

It remains to be seen if City will take a gamble on the England international, or instead look into signing someone with a better fitness record, but there’s no doubt that if he could stay injury-free he’d be a fine addition to Pep Guardiola’s squad.
With Joao Cancelo moving on loan to Bayern Munich in January, it could be that City will lose him permanently in the summer, so a replacement like Chilwell could be a good option for them.
Though Man City are currently under investigation for having allegedly broken the Premier League’s financial rules for a long period of time and the result of that investigation could have serious impacts on the club’s future, let alone summer transfer targets.
Chelsea ready to offer Lukaku in deal to get Osimhen
According to 90min, Chelsea are desperate to get Napoli striker Victor Osimhen in the summer.
They are not overly concerned about the €150m price tag but could offer Romelu Lukaku as a part of the deal – if he does not stay at Inter Milan, of course.
Chelsea are reportedly desperate to win the race for Napoli star Victor Osimhen and are hoping to include unneeded players like Romelu Lukaku in a bid for the striker.
The 24-year-old Nigerian forward has played a leading role for Luciano Spalletti’s side this season, scoring 16 goals and providing four assists across 17 Serie A games, helping Napoli take a commanding lead in the race for the Scudetto.

The transfer market noise surrounding Osimhen has started to grow louder and louder, with many now starting to expect a high-value auction in the upcoming summer transfer window.
As reported by 90min, Chelsea have started to focus on Osimhen in recent months, asking their scouts to send more detailed reports as they prepare to fight for his signature in the summer.
The Blues, backed by new owner Todd Boehly, are reportedly not concerned about the €150m figure being floated for the Nigerian striker, but are keen to include some players in the deal in order to lower the costs. One of these could be Lukaku, should Inter decide not to bring him back for next season.
Boehly called into ‘strategy meeting’ over Man City investigation
Chelsea co-owner and chairman Todd Boehly has been spotted in London after he traveled
there to attend a ‘strategy meeting’ between some Premier League clubs.
It’s rumored that the Man City’s Financial Fair Play investigation would be discussed at that meeting – although it’s not clear what Boehly thinks about the accusations.

Todd Boehly arrived at London’s Churchill hotel on Thursday for Premier League “strategy meeting” according to Daily Mail.
Boehly was joined by other chiefs from Premier League clubs including Newcastle’s Amanda Staveley and Brighton’s CEO Paul Barber.
On the radar was discussion about Manchester City’s financial fair play rules breach which was announced this week. Manchester City intend to defend themselves heavily and deny any rule breaks.
Chelsea’s co-owner was seen arriving at the hotel dressed in blue and black. Financial Fair Play regulations will likely be on the agenda at the quarterly shareholder meeting later this week, with the Premier League anticipating a long-term battle with the Manchester club over the next few years.
It is unclear what Todd thinks about Manchester City’s charge and in some aspects it is irrelevant to Chelsea, as long as him and Behdad Egbhali find a balance of keeping Chelsea competitive and not breaking the rules, then there will be no worries from Chelsea’s side.
Broughton says Chelsea bid collapsed due to Raine Group
“It’s always hard to tell [how close we came to buying Chelsea] but I think we bid the same amount [as Todd Boehly’s consortium],” said Sir Martin Broughton when talking about their failed bid for Chelsea last year.
“I don’t think there was a wafer between the amount we bid and what they bid. In many ways, Raine Group led us all down to almost telling us what to bid. I think we were very close.”
