Fans Blame Former Chelsea Star For Belgium’s Scandalous Defeat By Morocco

Belgium goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois has come under fire for Belgium’s 2-0 shock loss against Morocco on Sunday, November 27.
The Red Devils were far from their best during the Group F clash following a shaky start to their 2022 World Cup campaign and fans on social media have attributed the Red devil’s loss to Courtois describing his performance as a stinker.
Belgium kicked off their run with a 1-0 unconvincing win over Canada in their group opener last Wednesday and were hoping to get the job done against Morocco but were shocked.
However, the Atlas Lions condemned them to a major upset, with Hakim Ziyich playing a vital role in the north African country’s memorable win.
Two second-half goals from Romain Saiss and Zakaria Aboukhlal were enough to earn Morocco the victory as Belgium were handed a reality check.
While the entire set of the Belgium players was below par during the match, fans quickly singled out Courtois for blame. According to a section of supporters, the former Chelsea goalkeeper was largely responsible for Belgium’s shock loss.
One of the fans described the shot-stoppers performance as ‘a stinker’, with another lamenting the Champions League winner produced ‘shocking goalkeeping.’
Another posted: “Thibaut Courtois is the worst ever keeper to get “best in the world” shouts.”
A fourth posed: “Are we sure this was the same Thibaut Courtois that we say in the UCL final?” Below are more reactions:
