Chelsea Captain Azpilicueta Speaks On Blues Defeat At Stamford Bridge

Blues captain, Cesar Azpilicueta admits Chelsea was second best in defeat at home to Arsenal in Sunday’s London derby.
Azpilicueta later said: “Of course, we are really disappointed with the result. We knew it would be a tough one, the set pieces went to the other team. With the ball, we could have more control. It’s hard to take.
“Here we are a team. When we don’t get into good positions, we have to look at as a team where we can create chances. And how we can defend together, it’s not all about the attacking players. We need to look at ourselves, we are not at the position we want to be. Goals scored, goals conceded, the way we want to play.
“The reality is Arsenal have been working together for longer, but at Chelsea, the demand is always high. Once you step out on the pitch, it’s a London derby.”
Arsenal’s victory took them back to the top of the Premier League table, a re-claiming top spot from a Manchester City side who snatched a last-minute 2-1 victory at home to Fulham on Saturday. Chelsea, meanwhile, slipped down to seventh, 13 points off the Gunners and five points shy of the Champions League places.
Sunday’s defeat was Chelsea’s fourth loss against Arsenal in their last five Premier League meetings. They haven’t beaten the Gunners at Stamford Bridge in the league since August 2018.
