Barcelona In Trouble With Fans After Tweet About Lionel Messi

Barcelona have angered its fans following one of the club’s tweets about Lionel Messi during the World Cup finals against France on Sunday.
Infoexpert24 reports that Barcelona’s Twitter account tweeted an Argentine flag after Lionel Messi scored in the final to give La Albiceleste the lead against France which led to a backlash from fans.
Many responses argued that it was unjust of the club to tweet this given that they had no Argentine players competing in the final but have two French players, Ousmane Dembele and Jules Kounde, Football Espana reports.

Messi who spent 17 years at Barcelona before joining Paris Saint-Germain in 2021, also scored in extra-time to take his total tally at the 2022 World Cup to 7 goals. Argentina proceeded to win the World Cup finals although via penalties as Lionel Messi won football’s most coveted trophy for the first time in his career.
The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner was expected to confirm that Sunday’s showpiece would be the last time he would represent his country on the global stage.
But after inspiring their first victory since 1986, however, Messi confirmed it was his intention to play on until the next World Cup and be present in four years’ time when America, Canada and Mexico will play host.
Asked if he was going to retire from international football, Messi told TyC Sports: ‘No, I’m not going to retire from the national team.

@EduOriza: Dembelé and Kounde play for Barça and Messi no longer, how can you continue to be so sick of supporting a player who no longer plays with you more than supporting those who play with you
@YassinShukir: Respect for the French players who play for Barça.
@esrickpics: I understand that your greatest legend is playing, but you have to support your players, it is still more important
@paulinapilat: @vurquidez25
@vurquidez25: I remind you that Messi is at PSG and you have players in France. Not cheering for Barca’s current players? Dembele, Kounde?
@Pr__09: Currently no Barcelona player in Argentina Squad… 2 French player in Barcelona squad … but Messi own Barcelona .. Thanks for this Tweet .
