Arsenal stance on selling Emile Smith Rowe to Chelsea revealed
The Emirates is buzzing with speculation as Arsenal steps forward with a definitive stance on Emile Smith Rowe‘s future even as Premier League rivals Chelsea show interest in the rising star.
Reports circulating on Monday revealed that Chelsea is considering a last-minute move for Smith Rowe, as manager Mauricio Pochettino seeks to bolster his attacking lineup before the approaching transfer deadline this Friday.
Smith Rowe’s recent journey has been a roller coaster marked by injury setbacks during the 2022-23 season. Battling to regain his place on the field, he’s encountered competition from players like Kai Havertz and Fabio Vieira who appear to hold precedence.

In the wake of these challenges, whispers of Smith Rowe’s potential departure from North London have surfaced. Aston Villa had previously shown keen interest in the 23-year-old earlier in the summer.
Yet, a key revelation from The Athletic’s David Ornstein has solidified Arsenal’s stance on the matter. Ornstein emphatically reported that Arsenal has “no intention” of parting ways with Smith Rowe in this summer’s transfer window.
This affirmation from Arsenal resonates with previous statements made in May, where Ornstein underscored, “The hope he is will be a key player for England at the Under-21 European Championship later this summer before returning to fitness and form next term.”
The Under-21 European Championship held this year saw Smith Rowe make crucial contributions, netting two goals during England’s victorious campaign.

Despite his accomplishments on the international stage, Smith Rowe has yet to log a single minute for Arsenal in the current season, a fact not lost on Chelsea, who harbor aspirations of luring him away.
Looking back to April, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta vocalized his commitment to Smith Rowe’s continued role in the team’s trajectory.
Arteta emphasized the transient nature of success in football, stressing, “He’s pushing, and in football what you did a year ago, a month ago is not important, it’s about what you do now, what you do yesterday and what you do tomorrow.”
Arteta’s message was clear: the player’s contribution should be immediate and impactful, geared towards team improvement and victory.
Despite challenges, Smith Rowe remains an integral part of the manager’s plans, with Arteta affirming, “He’s very close.” The atmosphere at the Emirates crackles with anticipation as the summer transfer saga unfolds.
