Arsenal Fans Blasts Aubameyang After Arteta Criticism, Calls Him Arrogant

Arsenal fans have slammed Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for being ‘arrogant and ungrateful’ following his comments that Gunners boss Mikel Arteta cannot handle ‘big characters and big players.’

Aubameyang was captured in a clip criticizing Arteta following his departure to Barcelona in January after being frozen out and losing the club captaincy due to a discipline breach but responded by saying; “Big characters and big players…he [Arteta] can’t deal with it.” “He needs some young players who don’t say anything.”

While the former Gabon captain has since ‘clarified’ the comments, saying there were still ‘bad feelings in him’ at the time the video was taken, Arsenal supporters in Africa are not impressed and have lashed out at him for overstating his importance to the club.

His tweet rreads: Aware there is a video out that was recorded just after I arrived at Barca. At the time I still had a lot of bad feelings in me – Arsenal are doing great things this season and I wish all my old guys well, just not on November 6 😜 Now full focus on tomorrow

Below are some of the reactions from Arsenal fans on Twitter:

@Egi_nupe_ tweeted:
Your opinion doesn’t count on whether Arsenal is doing great things. You added nothing significant to the team and you ended a pained and finished player. Move on boy.

@CuteNaija tweeted: Those disrespectful words still came out of your mouth, and you will not be here issuing a disclaimer if not for the backlash.

We have had several legends leave Arsenal and they are forever respected. You will end your career without being a legend anywhere.

@WiloDouzinhoo tweeted: Disrespected the club, your former teammates & your Pride at the club. Have some shame

Dude. You were our club captain. You had just signed a new deal. Is it so much to ask that you arrive in time, work hard and give respect to your coach? I loved you at Arsenal, but you’re never bigger than your manager and you’re never bigger than your club. Arteta was right.
