Ten Hag Reveals Man Utd’s Top Transfer Target As Martial’s Future Hangs In The Balance

Manchester United‘s manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed that the club will prioritize signing a striker this summer with Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen among their top targets.
Ten Hag has struggled to settle on a center-forward this season using a variety of players including Wout Weghorst, Anthony Martial, and Marcus Rashford in attack at different points during the campaign.
The United boss hopes that the arrival of a marquee frontman will elevate the team to new heights, stating that United definitely need some offensive players who are really impactful players and quality players who improve the frontline.

While Rashford and Martial can both play as No. 9, Ten Hag stressed the need for a player who can strengthen the squad.
“Yeah, I think everyone knows,” the United boss said when asked if a new frontman will be his summer priority. “It’s not a secret that over the whole season we had a shortage of No 9s.
“First, we had the dropout of Ronaldo, then Antony Martial was often not available, Jadon Sancho was often not available, then you have a shortage of frontline players.
“With less players we have to cover many games, so definitely we need in the frontline players who strengthen the squad.
“You can approach that from many ways. The typical No 9, Rashford can also play very good as a No. 9 and Anthony Martial is a great No 9.
“We have players who can play in that role but, definitely, we need some offensive players who are really impact players, quality players, who improve the frontline.”

His comments also suggest that Martial has a future at Old Trafford, despite having a frustrating campaign plagued with injury.
The Frenchman will have just 12 months left on his current contract at the end of the season, making him a potential bargaining chip in United’s attempts to land Kane from Tottenham this summer.
However, if they fail to secure Kane, the club is reportedly prepared to test Napoli’s resolve for Osimhen, who is valued at over £100 million.
Ten Hag’s summer priority is clear, and the club will be looking to add a quality striker to their ranks to compete at the highest level.
United’s pursuit of Kane and Osimhen is sure to be one of the most closely watched transfer sagas of the summer, with many fans eager to see who will ultimately sign for the Red Devils.
