Arsenal dominated their London rivals Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, winning 4-1 and moving eight points clear at the top of the Premier League table.

Arsenal secured a historic win, becoming the first team in the English Football League to win nine London derbies in a single season.

Bukayo Saka was the standout player, scoring two goals and providing an assist, while Gabriel Martinelli and Granit Xhaka also found the net.

Palace managed to pull one back through Jeffrey Schlupp, but Arsenal’s victory was never in doubt.

Despite being forced into a change before kickoff, with Joachim Andersen picking up an injury in the warm-up and being replaced by James Tomkins, Palace defended well in the first half and had a couple of chances on the break.

Wilfried Zaha hit the post early on, and Odsonne Edouard forced a save from Aaron Ramsdale, but the offside flag was raised.

However, Arsenal soon found their rhythm, and Martinelli scored his 13th Premier League goal of the season in the 29th minute after Saka provided a superb assist.

Saka then turned from provider to scorer just before halftime, curling the ball into the bottom corner.

Xhaka added a third for Arsenal in the second half before Schlupp scored a consolation goal for Palace.

Saka completed his brace with a brilliant first-time finish after Kieran Tierney’s cross was cleared to him by Will Hughes.

Arsenal face Leeds United in their next game after the international break, while Palace will host Leicester City.
