6 Contenders Likely To Replace Jose Mourinho At Tottenham Hotspur

With the recent news of Jose Mourinho sack as the manager of Tottenham Football club on Monday, Infoexpert24 brings you a list of likely manager to replace the Portuguese.
Mourinho was fired as manager of Tottenham Hotspur after 17-months in charge of the team. He was appointed manager in November 2019.
Tottenham Hotspur was top of the league in December but currently 7th, likely to miss out on qualifying for next season’s Champions League. It has won just one league match in its last five and also suffered a disastrous Europa League exit to Dinamo Zagreb. The team’s defensive style of play has also frequently frustrated fans.
Infoexper24 understands that Spurs former midfielder Ryan Mason will take charge of the team for this week’s Premier League match against Southampton and the final against City. He is neither likely to get the job on a full-time basis, meaning Spurs will be looking for a new manager this summer.
Below Here are some of the contenders;
Steven Gerrard
Gerrard has gained plenty of respect for overseeing the turnaround at Rangers, rebuilding the club and taking them all the way to their first title in 10 years. He has long been considered a potential successor to Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.

Rangers great Barry Ferguson was adamant no amount of money would pry Gerrard away from the Rangers. “I personally think he’ll stay another season or two,” he said on Go Radio on Monday. “He won the league this season and has a real opportunity of winning the double, they’re in the quarter-finals.”
Brendan Rodgers
Spurs would love to swap places with Leicester City at the moment – the Foxes are third in the Premier League table and have an FA Cup final to look forward to. Rodgers deserves plenty of credit for that and is another who likes his teams to play flowing soccer.

However, he has a contract until 2025 and, even if Spurs want him, would he want to leave?
Julian Nagelsmann
The 33-year-old German is the early favorite and would be a popular choice with fans, the majority of whom never warmed to Mourinho.

Julian Nagelsmann
The RB Leipzig boss is hot property and is the favourite for the gig, with reports suggesting he is highly regarded at Tottenham. He helped lift Leipzig to a Champions League semi-finals appearance last season including knocking Spurs out of European competition and favors an attacking, exciting style of play.
Though their big competition is likely to be from Bayern Munich, who apparently want Nagelsmann to replace outgoing boss Hansi Flick.
Scott Parker

The former Spurs player guided Fulham to promotion to the Premier League last season but is struggling to keep them in it. With only 100 matches as a first-team manager under his belt, appointing him to Spurs’ top job would be a big gamble.
Jurgen Klinsmann
Jurgen Klinsmann is the BIG market mover on Betfair and he’s been a very popular bet to become the next Spurs manager.
Tottenham legend Klinsmann, who was a favourite with supporters across two spells in the 1990s, is also among the early contenders.
Klinsmann has been out of club management since leaving his post at Hertha Berlin in February 2020.The German has done some work as a pundit and spoke about Spurs as recently as last week.
Klinsmann said there has been far too much reliance on the two top scorers Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.
He told ESPN FC: “The biggest thing that is wrong is that you look at the table and you are missing six points right now to get somehow into the Champions League and there are seven games to go. So that doesn’t look so well.
“Obviously they’re in the League Cup final, that gives big hope to the Spurs fans to get at least a trophy this year, but the expectations were a lot higher.
“The expectations were actually to win the Premier League this year.
Mauricio Pochettino
A romantic, but again unlikely, option. Pochettino took Spurs to the Champions League final and had the club regularly finishing in the top four during his time in charge. He was sacked in favor of Mourinho after a poor run and is currently manager of Paris Saint-Germain.

Mauricio Pochettino
Pochettino still has a good relationship with Levy and has spoken of his desire to one day return to Spurs. If he wins the league and Champions League in his first season in Paris, could he be persuaded to make an earlier return than expected?
Probably not, but as the last 48 hours has shown, strange things have happened in soccer world with the recent news about formation of the European Super League, the footballing world has gone into an absolute frenzy with fans, clubs and domestic football associations all being divided and united on various fronts, there is pure chaos everywhere. So anything can happen!
