With a new manager in charge at Chelsea, the players will have to fight for their spots in the starting lineup.

Frank Lampard‘s knowledge of the squad could work in his favour, but it could also spell trouble for some players.

While there are obvious beneficiaries of the change, like Mason Mount, others could be affected negatively.

Then there’s Kepa, who was eventually replaced after Lampard dropped him. It remains to be seen if the Spanish goalkeeper will be given a chance to redeem himself under the new manager or if Lampard will opt for someone else.

Which players are most likely to benefit?

However, the status of some of these individuals is unknown, as it is possible that Potter was instructed not to play them.

Mason Mount is the most likely candidate to reclaim his position in the starting lineup, having been a crucial player during Lampard’s first stint as manager.

Mount has not featured in recent games under Potter, and if the board has not directed coaches to sideline him, Lampard should immediately bring him back into the fold.

Goalkeeper Edouard Mendy was in excellent form during his half-season under Lampard, and the pressure has returned on Kepa Arrizabalaga, who is currently Chelsea’s starting keeper.

Lampard’s return could also mean a lifeline for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has been frozen out of the team and has hardly played any games.
