What Jorginho Did To Anger Chelsea Fans In The Match Against Newcastle

Chelsea fans have been left infuriated with what Jorginho did in Newcastle‘s 1-0 win over the Blues on Saturday at St James’ Park.
Jorginho struggled alongside Mateo Kovacic against the Magpies as a midfield trio of Sean Longstaff, Bruno Guimaraes and Joe Willock left the west London duo chasing their tails on Saturday.
But, it was Joelinton who put the final nail in the coffin of the Italy international’s performance after leaving him on his backside having turned him inside then out. Jorginho darted out of position and towards the Brazilian in a bid to win back possession for Chelsea.
In doing so, he just slipped and fell over as Joelinton wheeled away to spearhead another breach of the Blues’ backline. Instead of making up the lost ground and chasing his opposite number, Jorgnho slapped the floor in despair and sulked.
This angered Chelsea supporters at St James’ Park – and on social media top. Below are few reactions from Twitter’:
@ELEGBETE1SPORTS tweeted: “Joelinton gave Jorginho epilepsy there but the cross was also epileptic instead of it being eclectic. The fluency of Newcastle’s attack in this second half is getting near ferocious. How long before the bridge wall cracks in this battle of English coaches?”
@mlqwlkr tweeted: “Joelinton did more in the middle for Newcastle than the bystander name Jorginho. And its Graham Potter fault”.
@ComingHomeNUFC tweeted: “Joelinton skinned Jorginho and couldn’t do anything with it”
@CFC_Mason2001 tweeted: “Joelinton at RW has more tackles, more passes and better pass accuracy than Jorginho at dm. I’m done”
@solypapy tweeted: “Players like Joelinton, Longstaff and co were more dominant in the midfield than the like of Jorginho, Mount and co. What a disgrace!!”
The 30-year-old faces an increasingly uncertain future at Chelsea with his contract set to expire in the summer. Despite this, the Italian has insisted that he’s happy in west London.
He’ll become eligible to begin pre-contract talks with foreign clubs in January over a free transfer at the end of the season if he fails to pen an extension. And, according to the Evening Standard, Barcelona are weighing up a move for the midfielder.
Speaking to The 5th Stand, he said: “I’m very happy at the moment we’re all very focused on what we need to do. I’m enjoying life here. I’m enjoying working with everyone and I think everybody says the same thing. It’s enjoyable to be at Chelsea.”
Last month, Jorginho’s agent – Joao Santos – revealed that his client is set to prioritize penning a new long-term deal at the club. Speaking to Tuttomercatoweb, Santos said: “We are due in June. We prioritize Chelsea and we are moving towards it. Another priority for Jorginho is to do well with the national team.”
The Italian’s agent was spotted in Barcelona earlier this year, fuelling speculation that a move to the Camp Nou would be on the cards. Prior to the Spanish giants’ interest, Jorginho was heavily linked with a move to Juventus.
Obviously, a move collapsed and Chelsea have since counted their lucky stars amid a wave of injuries with N’Golo Kante one of several players who are out.
