Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof was the victim of an object thrown by a spectator during the FA Cup final.

The incident occurred as Lindelof joined in the celebration of Bruno Fernandes’ equalizing goal in the highly-anticipated clash between the Manchester rivals.

The controversy began when VAR official David Coote awarded a penalty to United after Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s header appeared to brush the fingers of Manchester City’s Jack Grealish.

Initially, referee Paul Tierney had waved play on, but upon reviewing the footage, he pointed to the spot, much to Grealish’s displeasure.

Fernandes confidently converted the penalty, leveling the score. However, the drama escalated as the United players celebrated the goal in front of the City fans.

Lindelof was observed hunched over amidst the jubilant huddle, while Fernandes and Casemiro were seen engaging with someone off-camera, presumably in response to the incident.

Replays later revealed that Lindelof had been struck by an unidentified object, seemingly thrown from the section of City supporters situated behind the goal.

The nature of the object remains unclear, but Lindelof displayed visible signs of pain. Tierney swiftly intervened, swiftly ushering the United players away from the incident.

The incident occurred during an eventful first half at Wembley, as both teams battled for supremacy in the prestigious FA Cup final.
