Thierry Henry Speaks on Arsenal Premier League Title

Arsenal legendary ex-player Thierry Henry has shared his views on Arsenal’s Premier League title pursuit.

Infoexpert24 reports that the Frenchman discussed why he refuses to get “carried away” with Premier League leaders Arsenal and their incredible start to the season.

The Gunners’ best-ever start to a league season has allowed Mikel Arteta’s squad to climb two points ahead of Manchester City, the defending champions.

This season, Arsenal have only dropped points twice: in September against Manchester United and last weekend against Southampton.

Henry is not allowing himself to get ‘carried away’ despite his previous club’s incredible success and believes Arsenal should take note of Liverpool’s inability to stay up with Manchester City in recent seasons.

“It’s 11 games, you celebrate the title after 38 games, not before that,” Henry told CBS Sports.

“That’s me, I have always had that mentality.

“What we are talking about right now with Arsenal is hope. Manchester City can talk, Man City can be loud because we have seen it before with them and we know what it takes for a team to stay with them.

“Look at Liverpool… twice they tried to maintain the rhythm of Man City but couldn’t do it. So, let’s see what’s going to happen to us.

“I won’t get carried away. But we have hope and I have a lot of hope at the minute.”

Arsenal entered Sunday’s Premier League encounter against Southampton riding an eight-game winning streak, but lost a one-goal advantage to draw 1-1 at St Mary’s.

£50m summer signing Gabriel Jesus acknowledged that Arsenal was “a little bit upset” after dropping points, but he advised his teammates to remain “calm.”

“Everyone is a little bit upset because we know we could win the game and get the three points,” the Brazilian striker said.

“I think they played good, but we were better than them. We give them a lot of easy balls and then we don’t score the goals with the chances we create.

“Now is the time you know everyone is going to talk about us, about our performance; I just want to say to the team to be calm.

“We are going to come back strong, play our football, like we started the season and everything is coming back to normal.

“Sometimes you drop a little bit, but you have to realise and wake up. That’s what we have to do.”

On Sunday, Arsenal will take on Nottingham Forest in the Premier League, but they will first face PSV in the Europa League.
