Manchester United are reportedly in search of a new striker this summer, and manager Erik Ten Hag has drawn up a shortlist of six potential options with one of them that he is “Obsessed” with.

The list includes high-profile names such as Tottenham’s Harry Kane and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, as well as Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani, Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund, Benfica’s Goncalo Ramos, and Ajax’s Mohammed Kudus.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Kane is at the top of ten Hag’s shortlist, and the United boss is said to be “obsessed” with the 29-year-old England captain. Kane has been in superb form for Spurs this season, scoring 25 Premier League goals.

However, United are reportedly keeping their options open and will not be held to ransom by Tottenham’s chairman, Daniel Levy, or drawn into a lengthy transfer saga.

Therefore, the club is willing to consider other options such as Osimhen, who has scored 22 league goals to fire Napoli to the Serie A title this season.

Kolo Muani is another potential target for United, having scored 21 goals for Eintracht Frankfurt this campaign. Hojlund has a more modest record, with 14 goals for Atalanta and former side Sturm Graz this season, but at 20 years old, he is a promising prospect.

Lastly, Mohammed Kudus, who Ten Hag signed for Ajax in July 2020, is a player he knows well. The 22-year-old Ghana international has 18 club goals this season and scored a brace in a 3-2 win against South Korea at the World Cup in Qatar.

While Kane is the oldest player on ten Hag’s shortlist, he could be the most realistic signing due to his situation at Spurs.

He is yet to win a major trophy with the London club, while United have already lifted the Carabao Cup this season.

Kane has also made no secret of his desire to become the Premier League’s record scorer, a feat currently held by Alan Shearer with 260 goals, with Kane’s tally standing at 208.
