Cristiano Ronaldo has reflected on his recent departure from Manchester United and insists he is now a better man after going through a “bad phase” of his career.

The Portugal veteran’s game time had been restricted under the new coach, Erik ten Hag, which led to a damning television interview with Piers Morgan where he criticized the club.

As a result, his contract was terminated by mutual consent, and he joined Al Nassr.

Despite the disappointment, Ronaldo has moved on and has expressed his excitement for the future under new head coach Roberto Martinez.

Ronaldo was named in Martinez’s first squad for the Euro 2024 qualifiers, dispelling rumours about his international future.

Martinez has praised Ronaldo, saying he is “very important for the team” and that he does not look at his age.

Ronaldo is now on the brink of breaking another FIFA record and earning his 197th cap for Portugal.

He has already led his country to success at Euro 2016 and the inaugural Nations League in 2019, but the 38-year-old remains hungry for more achievements on the international stage.

As Portugal begins a new era under Martinez, Ronaldo has been given the opportunity to prove himself once again and to demonstrate that he is still one of the best players in the world.
