Victor Osimhen Defends Yellow Card Anger

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has blamed opposing defenders for incurring a late yellow in Napoli 2-0 away win over Roma in the Serie A on Sunday.
The 22-year-old made his 13th league appearance in the encounter as a second-half substitute and gave a good account of himself, helping his side to extend their unbeaten run this season.
Osimhen was introduced in the 66th minute, replacing two-goal hero Mertens and had 15 touches on the ball as part of his contribution for his side.

The centre-forward was shown a yellow card for pushing Roma defender Gianluca Mancini in stoppages and in his defence he said: “He went in hard on me twice.”
“He went in hard on me twice, I felt it and he was denying that he didn’t do it,” Osimhen said. “That got me so angry.”
Meanwhile, Osimhen has confirmed he will take part in the AFCON qualifier games against Lesotho and Benin Republic.

Osimhen only recently returned from the head trauma he suffered against Atalanta in a league game in February and bagged a goal on his comeback against Bologna.
The attacker has only featured in 19 games across all competitions since his summer move from Lille due to injury, suspension and coronavirus-related problems.
Osimhen is part of the Nigeria squad for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against the Republic of Benin and Lesotho, slated for March 27 and 30, respectively.
