Nigerians drags Wike as he bans #EndSARS protest in River State, See Twitter Reactions
Angry Nigerians has taken to Twitter to call out Governor of River State Nyesom Wike after he sent an order to stop any form of #EndSARS protest in the state.
The governor specifically said all proposed protests by #EndSARS campaigners have been prohibited. He explained that there was no need for any form of demonstration since the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, had disbanded the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Nigeria Police Force but Nigerians are not having it.
Below are some of the reactions from Twitter users:
Gov. Wike, we flew into this state today to FIGHT FOR A BETTER NIGERIA! TO WALK THE WALK! TO FIGHT FOR A BETTER TODAY AND TOMORROW!! Why should we be DEPRIVED OUR RIGHT!! why

Coming from a Governor who had earlier made this grave allegation? Could it then be that the statement as clearly credited to Gov Wike was/is a political one devoid of any truth? Was it just to get back at the then SARS Commander in the state? A lawyer. A Governor. Really? Okay! pic.twitter.com/fSgYw9boAf

This is the only Governor in Nigeria that has banned constitutionally mandated protests. He shouldn’t go near Aso Rock. Nyesom Wike is a tyrant and must be blacklisted like Nasir Elrufai!!! https://t.co/7TNKa9YaJz

Nyesom Wike is cancelled. He waited till 11pm, the eve of the PortHarcourt protest to make this unconstitutional announcement. He opened the door for bloodthirsty police officers to shoot innocent Nigerians tomorrow. We will not forget, any life lost will be on his head. #EndSARS

What Wike doesn’t know is that he has given the Nigerian Police the authority to shoot at peaceful protesters. Any bloodshed tomorrow in Portharcourt will be on Governor Wike. He should be held responsible for any bloodshed. #SarsMustGo

According to our constitution, Nigerians have the right to protest peacefully so who is Wike to ban all forms of protest in Rivers State.
He should stop behaving like a loose chiwawa before a caucasian bites him!!#SarsMustGo #5for5 #SARSMUSTEND

Wike probably mistakes being overzealous for trampling on the constitutional rights of citizens, but the protests must hold regardless..

Wike has no right to ban any peaceful protest, let him do his worst. He wasn’t the one that gave us that fundamental human right but the constitution he swore to uphold.#SARSMUSTEND

By banning the protests, Wike has exhibited more extremism and intolerance than El Rufai. Ponder on that for a second.

Wike is an Oppressor.
Another kind of oppressor.
One had to be wary of him.
His decisions make and Mar his personality, it shows he doesn’t accept or listen to advice.

Governor Wike just scored an own goal. The man may never recover from this costly mistake. Dont they have good advisers or is it that they don’t listen?
