Mourinho Responds To Chelsea Amid Paulo Dybala’s Rumored Move To Stamford Bridge This Summer
Jose Mourinho has opted to remain tight-lipped about Paulo Dybala’s future at Roma in response to the Argentine forward’s rumored move to Chelsea this summer.
Reports from Italy last week suggested that Chelsea had expressed interest in acquiring Dybala’s services ahead of the upcoming season, with the aim of bolstering Mauricio Pochettino’s attacking options.
Pochettino is said to hold great admiration for Dybala, who, at the age of 29, possesses a release clause in his contract that allows clubs outside of Serie A to secure his signature for a mere €12 million (£10m).

Dybala played a vital role in Mourinho’s Roma side last season, as the club secured a sixth-place finish in Serie A and reached the final of the Europa League, only to be defeated by Sevilla.
However, Mourinho claims to be unaware of the existence of the clause that could potentially see Dybala depart before the commencement of the new season.
When questioned about Dybala’s contract clause in light of Chelsea’s interest, Mourinho, speaking to reporters upon his arrival at Rome airport on Saturday, stated, “I don’t know anything about his contract. But obviously I talk to Paulo like I do with all of my players.”
Mourinho was also asked about his reaction to the 10-day touchline ban imposed on him for the start of the new Serie A season. This punishment was the result of his remarks in May when he referred to referee Daniele Chiffi as “the worst” he had ever seen.
“I am not surprised by anything,” responded Mourinho. “With this heat in August, rather than sit on the bench, I will be somewhere nice and cool with air conditioning.”
Mourinho’s evasive response regarding Dybala’s contract clause suggests that there may be more to the situation than meets the eye.

While Chelsea’s reported interest in the Argentine forward remains a topic of discussion, it appears that the Roma manager is keen to maintain confidentiality and direct his focus towards his relationship with the player.
The Portuguese manager’s nonchalant reaction to his touchline ban demonstrates his ability to take setbacks in stride.
Rather than dwelling on the matter, Mourinho chooses to look forward and find solace in cooler surroundings during his absence from the bench.
As the transfer window progresses, the uncertainty surrounding Dybala’s future at Roma and the potential interest from Chelsea will undoubtedly keep fans and pundits alike on the edge of their seats.
Only time will reveal whether Mourinho’s silence masks a secret negotiation or if it is simply a tactical move to avoid unnecessary distractions during Roma’s preparations for the new season.
