Mason Mount’s Conversation with his Dad Inside Man Utd Changing Room Angers Chelsea Fans

A video capturing a conversation between Mason Mount and his father in the Old Trafford dressing room has stirred up anger among Chelsea fans.
Mount recently ended his 18-year association with his childhood club, Chelsea. After completing his medical at Carrington on Monday, the midfielder signed a five-year contract with Manchester United, reportedly earning £250,000 per week.
Manchester United subsequently released a behind-the-scenes video on their official YouTube channel, showcasing Mount’s initial moments at the club.

From meeting his new teammate Lisandro Martinez to taking in the surroundings of Old Trafford, the England international appeared genuinely excited to be a Manchester United player following his £55 million move.
However, a particular moment in the 13-minute video has sparked fury among Chelsea supporters.
In the footage from the dressing room, Mount can be seen sitting next to his father, Tony, who played a significant role in facilitating the transfer.
“Mason…this dressing room, man…home mate, HOME,” Tony said. “Who would have thought, eh, when I brought you up here as a little boy…”
Mount responded, “I know. Special, isn’t it.”
Following the release of the video online, a barrage of Chelsea fans voiced their opinions on social media.

One fan remarked, “He’s now officially in the Courtois books, by the way,” while another commented, “Chelsea vs Man United is going to be awkward at Stamford Bridge.”
A third fan stated, “Just a reminder that some Chelsea fans defended Mason Mount for months, attacking everyone from Bohely to the fans, to Reece James, to protect this man and his image.”
A fourth fan added, “Certain individuals are still defending him. Mount’s Chelsea legacy has been completely tarnished, regardless of what you say.”
As previously mentioned, Tony Mount played a crucial role in his son’s lucrative move to Manchester United. After both clubs struggled to agree on a fee, Tony reportedly spoke to Chelsea co-owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali over the phone to facilitate an agreement, according to The Athletic.

Mason also shared his thoughts on the transfer in an interview with Manchester United’s official website this week.
“It’s never easy leaving the club where you grew up, but Manchester United will provide an exciting new challenge for the next phase of my career,” he said.
“Having competed against them, I know how strong the squad is that I’m joining, and I can’t wait to be part of this group’s drive to win major trophies.
“Everyone can see the progress the club has made under Erik ten Hag. After meeting with the manager and discussing his plans, I couldn’t be more thrilled about the upcoming seasons and the hard work expected here.
“I am hugely ambitious; I know the incredible feeling of winning major trophies and what it takes to achieve it. I will give everything to experience that again at Manchester United.”
