Manchester United Star Faces Potential Move Out From Old Trafford Following Training Ground Controversy
Manchester United left-back Alex Telles could be on his way back to Porto this summer as emerging reports suggest that he has failed to impress manager Erik ten Hag during his time at Old Trafford.
The Brazillian was loaned out to Sevilla at the start of the season and played a vital role in their triumph in the Europa League final, despite the team’s inconsistent performance in the league.
Despite having a difficult season, Sevilla managed to finish the campaign in 12th place under the guidance of new manager Jose Luis Mendilibar.
Although the Spanish club has secured Champions League qualification, the Daily Mirror reports that they have no intention of signing Telles permanently and he is set to return to Manchester United, albeit with an uncertain future under ten Hag.
Tensions between Telles and the club arose last year when the 30-year-old was involved in a heated training ground bust-up with young talent Hannibal Mejbri.
The Daily Mail reported that United’s interim boss at the time, Ralf Rangnick had to intervene and halt the training session to defuse the situation.
Now, more than a year later, it appears that Telles could be heading for a permanent departure from Manchester United.

Reports from Portuguese outlet Correio da Manha (via Sport Witness) suggest that Porto is keen on reacquiring Telles whom they previously sold to United in the summer of 2021.
The potential deal would involve United loaning Telles to Porto for the upcoming season, with Porto manager Sergio Conceicao expressing interest in bringing the defender back to the club.
According to the report, United would contribute a significant portion of Telles’ salary and could potentially include him as part of a deal to acquire Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa.
Given that Telles’ contract expires next summer, this move would mark the end of his stint at Manchester United and potentially allow Porto to secure his services on a free transfer, although negotiations for a sale could also be considered by United.

During his time in Liga Portugal, Telles established himself as an attacking force, serving as Porto’s primary penalty and free-kick taker.
In the 2020/21 season, he contributed 11 goals and eight assists before his move to Manchester United.
However, Telles struggled to replicate his impressive numbers at United and often found himself playing second fiddle to Luke Shaw.
The latest reports from Record suggest that Telles is eager to return to Porto, as he believes he is not part of Erik ten Hag’s plans at United.
As the transfer window progresses, the future of Alex Telles remains uncertain. Manchester United, Porto, and the player himself will need to navigate negotiations and potential terms to determine his next destination.
