Manchester United Had A ‘More Successful’ Season Than Arsenal – Rio Ferdinand

Rio Ferdinand has expressed his belief that Manchester United have had a more successful season than Arsenal, despite the latter’s strong title challenge in the Premier League.
Arsenal held the top spot in the title race for an impressive 247 days and seemed poised to end their 19-year wait for a league championship. However, their hopes were dashed by a late-season collapse, winning just two of their last eight matches.
Meanwhile, a dominant Manchester City clinched their fifth title in six seasons, placing them on track for a potential treble.

Although Arsenal faced early exits from other competitions, they secured a commendable second-place finish in the table and a return to the Champions League after a six-year absence, surpassing expectations overall.
On the other hand, Manchester United, under the guidance of Erik ten Hag, also secured Champions League football for the next season, which was the primary objective in his inaugural campaign.
This achievement was far from guaranteed, considering the club’s state of affairs at this time last year.
Depending on the final day’s results, the Red Devils will finish either third or fourth in the table, with a potential gap of just six points behind Mikel Arteta’s side.

Moreover, Ten Hag’s team could end the season with a cup double, having already secured the Carabao Cup and the upcoming FA Cup final against City on June 3rd.
Considering the addition of silverware, Ferdinand believes that United’s campaign has been “more successful.” He posed the question on the FIVE podcast, asking if United had a better season than Arsenal.
From Ferdinand’s perspective, winning a trophy and securing a Champions League qualification, regardless of the league position, represents a more successful season. He stated, “I’m only taking the trophy and whatever position I finish, to finish in the Champions League, that’s it.”

Ferdinand acknowledged Arsenal’s progress under Arteta, particularly in closing the gap on Manchester City. However, he emphasized that this discussion warrants further exploration in the future.
As the final round of fixtures approaches, United will host Fulham, while Arsenal will face Wolves at home on Sunday.
