Manchester United Confirm Names of Players Leaving The Club while Retaining Mason Greenwood

In an official announcement, Manchester United has unveiled the list of players who will be departing the club as their contracts come to an end.

Leaving the club are the likes of Phil Jones, Axel Tuanzebe, Ethan Galbraith and Di’Shon Bernard, while Eric Hanbury, Charlie Wellens, and Manni Norkett are leaving United’s academy.

However, one player who will remain at Old Trafford despite an ongoing internal investigation is Mason Greenwood. The confirmation of Greenwood’s retention comes amidst a period of uncertainty, as the club continues to assess allegations made against the young forward.

Greenwood has been suspended since October last year, following charges of attempted rape, controlling and coercive behavior, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Although the charges were later withdrawn in February, the club is still conducting an investigation into whether the 21-year-old’s actions brought Manchester United into disrepute and violated his contract.

In the midst of this, Greenwood has been included in the club’s retained list, highlighting that his contract status is separate from the investigation.
