Man Utd To Replace Cristiano Ronaldo With Brentford Striker, Ivan Toney

Manchester United are reportedly considering Brentford forward Ivan Toney as a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo, 37, has been forced to settle for the role of impact substitute since the arrival of Erik ten Hag in the summer and Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial have both been preferred to him up front.
Ronaldo is being linked with a move away from Old Trafford in the January window and if that does happen, Man Utd are monitoring Toney’s situation ahead of a potential approach.
Toney’s current contract with the West London side runs until 2025. Various Premier League clubs are interested in the 26-year-old. However, the Bees are hoping to tie him down to a new deal.
Joining Brentford in the summer of 2020, Toney has made an immediate impact in Thomas Frank’s team. The English striker helped the Bees in their successful quest for promotion to the Premier League.
Toney was once again pivotal for Brentford in the previous campaign. The 26-year-old made 33 appearances in the English top flight, scoring 12 goals and providing five assists. And the Bees managed to survive the drop.
He has scored six Premier League goals in nine matches so far this season.
And his superb form earned him an England call-up for last month’s Nations League games against Italy and Germany.
It comes amid interest from a host of Prem sides, with United joined by Leeds, Newcastle and West Ham in the race to acquire his signature.
It remains to be seen whether Ronaldo decides to part ways with the Red Devils midway through the campaign. If that does happen, will Toney make his way to United? Only time will tell.
