Man United Fans Heard Singing New Cristiano Ronaldo Chant At Old Trafford [Watch]

Manchester United fans were recently heard singing new Cristiano Ronaldo chant at the Old Trafford stands when the Red Devils hosted Burnley on Thursday night Carabao Cup.

The 37-year-old forward is currently a free agent after he agreed to leave Manchester United with immediate effect after contract termination.

Ronaldo, who scored 145 goals in 346 appearances for United during two separate spells, gave an extraordinary interview to Piers Morgan last month, where he accused manager Erik ten Hag of a lack of respect.

It came after Ronaldo refused to come on as a substitute during October’s 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur, as Ten Hag opted for a front three of Antony, Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford.

Since leaving Old Trafford at the end of November, Ronaldo has represented Portugal at this winter’s World Cup, while United have faced La Liga outfit Cadiz in a mid-season friendly.

This week, the Reds played in their first competitive fixture since his departure – a Carabao Cup round of 16 clash against Burnley – and fans were quick to bring up the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.

In fact, a number of videos have emerged from Old Trafford that show fans singing: “I don’t care about Ronnie. Ronnie don’t care about me. All I care about is MUFC.”

Manchester United, meanwhile, handed Ronaldo a short, statistical-based goodbye in their programme notes for Wednesday’s cup game against Burnley.

It read: “Cristiano Ronaldo left the club by mutual agreement last month,” the message began. “The Portuguese superstar scored 145 goals across two spells and 436 appearances and helped us win three Premier League titles, one FA Cup, two League Cups, the Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup.

“Ronaldo was also crowned Ballon d’Or winner in 2008. In a statement on November 22, the club put on record its gratitude for Cristiano’s immense contribution and wished him and his family well for the future.”
