Ex Big brother Nigeria housemate Lucy all smiles as she receives an ovation welcome in Calabar organised by Sen Florence Ita Giwa.
The Big brother Nigeria reality show indeed empowers its housemates through the fame they get from being on the show, giving them a springboard to launch their careers in the Nigerian Entertainment industry.
This is evident as one of the former housemate from the lockdown edition was given a an ovation welcome in Calabar, hosted by Sen Florence Ita Giwa.
There seems to be a consensus among Nigerians that the show provides a great platform for contestants to succeed in their individual pursuits as evidence by the great strides they make after they left the Big Brother house.
Lucy had a homecoming event planned for her on her way back to Calabar from Lagos. Like other housemates from previous seasons who were celebrated for representing their states, the reality star was also received like a queen upon her arrival in the city.
In attendance at the welcoming ceremony were: The Cross River State Commissioner for Tourism, The Mayor of Calabar, Director of Tourism, SA Tourism and others.
Traditional dancers received Lucy as she alighted from the car and made her way to the venue for the event. In a video posted on her Instagram page, the reality star was seen busting dance moves just like the dancers who came to welcome her.
Interestingly, that was not all to the celebration of the BBNaija star. In a video posted on her page, Lucy was sighted in a gathering of people who had all come together to celebrate with her. According to her, the gathering was put together by popular politician, Senator Florence Ita-Giwa.
For a reality TV show that’s not a regular talent hunt, it is easy to question the value BBNaija has for young people. For a majority of the viewers of the show, the value is obvious as alot of people agree the show holds great benefits for the youth by providing opportunities for success.
They believe the show provides young people with an opportunity to discover themselves, interact with others, and showcase their talent to the world. In addition, it launches them to stardom
