List of Prohibited Items For World Cup Goers In Qatar Revealed

Football supporters heading to Qatar for the World Cup need to make sure they don’t bring any of the prohibited items to the country, or they could be imprisoned.

A lot of football fans have been left short of the normal excitement that comes with the last few days of build-up before a World Cup.

Whether that’s due to the timing of the tournament, the fact there are still Premier League games going on, or the human rights issues, that FIFA are desperate for us to forget, it’s just not quite the same at the moment.

That still won’t stop several thousand fans from all over the World from making preparations to travel for the Football fiesta.

Fans who do make it out to Qatar won’t be able to party quite as much as they might usually do at a World Cup, or at least it’ll cost them more.

They will be able to drink in the Muslim country, with beers set to be sold three hours before kick-off and an hour after kick-off in games.

Should fans want to drink in hotels though, it could cost them a huge amount, thanks to cover charges just to get into bars, as well as typically expensive prices for the drinks.

Anyone hoping to get past that should be warned that alcohol is on a list of prohibited items being brought into the country, along with some other risque things.

As per the Daily Star, along with drinks, sxx toys, pornxgraphic material, religious books, and pork products are all banned from being brought in.

Those items will be confiscated at the airport if anyone brings them in, and it doesn’t seem likely they’ll be keeping them for you to collect on your way home.

It could go further though, with fans also potentially facing imprisonment for bringing the illegal contraband into the country.

If that isn’t harshing your vibe, then fans also can’t bring in e-cigarettes or vapes, whilst skimpy clothing also isn’t allowed – although that might be more of an issue once fans are unpacked and have changed clothes.

Whilst homos*xual relationships are famously not allowed in the country, fans have previously been warned that one night stands, even between heterose*ual couples, could lead to seven years in jail!

In case anyone was still wondering whether or not giving Qatar the World Cup was a good idea, considering everything, even Sepp Blatter doesn’t think it was a good idea.

The former FIFA boss, who was still in charge when the world governing body decided to award the tournament to the Middle East country, the same day they gave the 2018 edition to Russia, has opened up on his feelings.

“The choice of Qatar was a mistake,” the 86-year-old said earlier this week.

“At the time, we actually agreed in the executive committee that Russia should get the 2018 World Cup and the USA that of 2022. It would have been a gesture of peace if the two long-standing political opponents had hosted the World Cup one after the other.

“It’s too small a country. Football and the World Cup are too big for that.”

Now you understand why some fans people might not be quite as excited as usual about going to the World Cup in Qatar.
