Kroenke’s Willingness To Sign Mykhailo Mudryk Rejected By Arteta And Edu

American billionaire businessman, and owner of Arsenal Football Club, Stan Kroenke was reportedly willing to match Chelsea‘s offer for Mykhailo Mudryk during the January transfer window but the decision was ultimately rejected by manager Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu.
According to reports, Chelsea made a bid for Mudryk during the January transfer window, prompting Kroenke to consider matching the offer in an effort to secure the young talent.
Mudryk, who was then playing for Shakhtar Donetsk, had expressed his desire to join the Gunners on several occasions, praising the club and Arteta on social media.

However, Chelsea made a late move for the Ukrainian winger, offering around £89million for his services. Since his move to Stamford Bridge, Mudryk has struggled to make an impact, failing to score in his 12 appearances for the Blues and registering only two assists.
Meanwhile, Arsenal opted to sign Leandro Trossard from Brighton instead. While the move was not initially popular among fans, Trossard has since proven to be a valuable addition to the Gunners’ squad, registering eight assists and a goal for the team.
According to French football journalist Julien Laurens, Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke was willing to match Chelsea’s offer for Mudryk, but Arteta and Edu chose not to pursue the Ukrainian winger.

Speaking on the Premier League’s Kelly and Wrighty Show, Lauren said: “Kroenke would have paid but Edu and Mikel said – ‘We can’t. We have to be disciplined here, we have to have a structure’.
“And I think they deserve respect for that.”
The decision is indicative of the new approach that Arteta and Edu have taken since taking over at Arsenal, with a focus on developing young talent and building a sustainable future for the club.
While fans may be disappointed to miss out on a promising young player, the decision to prioritize the long-term success of the club is a promising sign for the future.
Kroenke’s willingness to spend money on young talent also bodes well for Arsenal’s future, as the club looks to build a squad capable of challenging for titles in the years to come.

Mudryk endured a difficult first outing at the Emirates Stadium earlier this week, as Arsenal eased to a 3-1 victory.
The 22-year-old came on as a 71st-minute substitute but subsequently had a green laser shined on his face by a fan for the rest of the encounter.
Arsenal have condemned the “dangerous and totally unacceptable behaviour” of a 21-year-old man accused of shining the laser who was arrested during the game.

Arsenal said: “This behaviour is dangerous and totally unacceptable, and we will fully support the police with their enquiries.
“We will obviously take the strongest possible action.”
The rejection of Mudryk may also open the door for other young talents to make their mark at Arsenal, with the club’s scouts likely to continue searching for the next generation of stars.
In the short term, Arteta and Edu will need to focus on getting the most out of their current squad, as they look to win the Premier League.
