On the day the #EndSars fight heightened in Osogbo (October 17), some hoodlums broke into Osun Mall and looted it. I was not part of the criminals that assaulted the premises yet I unexpectedly ended up close to the shopping center when the assault occurred.
So how could you get involved?
I was not among them before that day. I went to the shopping center to meet my beautician, who had called me before to come over so I could color my hair to dark. Be that as it may, a couple of moments after I arrived, I saw alot of people running towards the shopping center.
I joined them, even though i didn’t know whether they were protesters or something different. We were completely frightened thus we ran in various ways in the shopping center.
I was unable to go out in light of the fact that I accepted those that came into the premises may harm me, so I covered up. When they were looting shops, most of us covered up in better places.
The hoodlums moved from shop to shop, taking things. They got to a telephone shop and carried everything inside it. While they were running endlessly and two iPhones fell close to where i was and I took them.
I can’t recognise those people if i see them again, they took lots of phones. I won’t lie, I took the iPhones and tuck them away them under my garments and returned home.
For what reason did you do that?
My expectation was to bring back the telephone the next day. I had wanted to visit my beautician the next day.
All in all, for what reason didn’t you bring them back?
I needed to bring back the telephones the next day yet before I could do that, the phones were tracked by the police and i was arrested.
What do you do?
I am a ‘runs girl’
Is it safe to say that you were part of the #EndSARS protesters?
No, I didn’t go along with them for the protest, i was only at Olaiya Junction, Osogbo while the protest was going I was there to watch them.
