Graham Potter spaeks on Christian Pulisic and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang staus at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea boss Graham Potter has insisted that both Christian Pulisic and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang remain an integral part of his plans at Stamford Bridge amid transfer rumors.

Both players have been linked with moves away amid a frustrating season for the Blues, who are languishing in 10th place in the Premier League.

Manchester United have been credited with interest in Pulisic again this month with Juventus linked with a move for the forward.

Pulisic is now facing two months on the sidelines after suffering a knee injury in the league defeat to Manchester City earlier this month.

But even without the setback, Potter insists the club have never considered letting Pulisic leave this month.

‘No chance,’ Potter told a press conference ahead of the league meeting with Crystal Palace on Sunday. ‘No, he will be out past that and there was never any consideration about him leaving anyway. He is a couple of months out.

‘He is disappointed but he is optimistic about coming back quicker than two months. He is in that phase where he is keeping his fingers crossed and hoping his rehab goes well.’

Aubameyang meanwhile has also been strongly linked with a move away, although his options will be very limited this month having already played for two different clubs this season in Chelsea and Barcelona.

The 33-year-old suffered the ignominy of being hauled off having been introduced as an early substitute against City last week and missed Sunday’s FA Cup tie against the same opposition with a back injury.

Aubameyang was an unused sub in Thursday’s defeat at Fulham, having not started a game since the 1-0 defeat to former side Arsenal on 6 November.

But Potter says the striker remains an ‘important’ member of the squad.

‘Yes, he is here. He had a problem with his back after Manchester City. That’s why he was absent against Man City [in the FA Cup]. We just went for Kai [against Fulham].

‘Pierre is in our squad and he is important for us. I am pretty sure he can help us going forward.’
