Arsenal legend, Martin Keown has singled out Rob Holding as the major culprit in the side’s 4-1 defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday.

From the blast of the whistle, City looked imperious, the Premier League champions appeared to be in control of the game and Arsenal struggled to find a footing.

One player that particularly struggled in the match was English defender, Rob Holding who had a torrid time dealing with City’s striker, Erling Haaland.

Holding struggled so much that it seems like Haaland was having his way easily at the expense of the Arsenal man, this much was pointed out by Keown who stated that the Arsenal defending lost all his battles against the Norwegian.

“If I was playing, Haaland would be all I was thinking about,’ Keown told BT Sport.

“Holding lost that battle. The very first challenge, that’s where they concede the first goal.

“You’ve got to put your marker down, you’ve got to be physical, maybe take a booking. But Haaland is just strutting around that pitch and it looked really easy at times.

“That’s something these young Arsenal defenders are going to have to learn and learn quickly,” Keown said.
