Eddie Nketiah was Arsenal hero against Manchester United

Eddie Nketiah scored a brace including a 90th-minute winner as Arsenal passed a massive test of their Premier League title pursuit with an enthralling 3-2 win over Manchester United and fans are buzzing on Twitter.

In one of the best matches played anywhere in the world this season, the Gunners came out on top to really boost their title chances.

Marcus Rashford gave United the lead in the first half with an absolute stunner, before Eddie Nketiah levelled things shortly after.

Early in the second half, Arsenal moved into a 2-1 lead thanks to a curling rocket from young star Bukayo Saka.

But like the Gunners did in the opening 45 minutes, United responded to the setback very quickly.

Lisandro Martinez equalised with a brave, looping header and it looked as if the points would be shared.

However, Mikel Arteta’s brilliant young Arsenal had other ideas.

Nketiah stepped up when his team needed him most in the 90th minute to score the biggest goal of his career so far.

The poacher extraordinaire converted Oleksandr Zinchenko’s cross to send the home fans in the Emirates wild.

New signing Leandro Trossard also played a crucial role in the build-up, a fitting end to his short but bright cameo.

There was a VAR check on the goal for offside and it was incredibly tight, but it was eventually given by the team of officials at Stockley Park.

#ARSMUN Below are some of the reactions from fans on Twitter:

@GaryLineker: Arsenal were superb, especially in the 2nd half and deserve their victory. Their football has been a delight to watch. Nketiah has really stepped up in the absence of Jesus. As for Arteta, well, what an incredible job he’s doing.

@SundayOOliseh: Exceptional, sovereign & “Champion-like” performance by this season’s Arsenal till now. Tactically classy, with & without D ball, coupled with well-orchestrated transitions with runs into pockets that hurt Man. United Today. Don’t bet against this team!#ARSMUN

@firstladyship: Arsenal is LP. No one gave them a chance.

@DrJoeAbah: Great win for Arsenal. Partey was off; Martinelli was off; Xhaka was off. But Nketiah was buzzing throughout. Saka was exceptional. Good introduction by Trossard. Good win against a decent Manchester United side.

@babyface2000ad: buying Trossard was a better deal, than wasting 100m on Mudryk,he came in against Manchester and made the difference. Men !!Nketiah made a big difference, our fans dont rate him because he was not bought for 100m,Nketiah in today’s market is worth it.We humbled them

@Reinaldodcg9: Zinchenko, man. What a player. I truly mean it. He is so important for this Arsenal system, he showed it the entire game but especially in the second goal of Nketiah.

@JacobsBen: Fantastic Arsenal victory to go five clear at the top. They have 50 points halfway through their season.

A pulsating game (#MUFC played their part, too) with quality finishing and crucial saves. #AFC finished so strong with Eddie Nketiah the hero. It’s another statement win.👏
