Manchester United were ripped apart by Liverpool as Jurgen Klopp’s side recorded their biggest-ever competitive win against the Red Devils on Sunday.

The result saw United suffer their joint-heaviest ever competitive defeat, alongside 7-0 losses to Wolves in 1931, Aston Villa in 1930, and Blackburn in 1926.c

United’s impressive run of form came crashing to a halt on Sunday as they suffered their heaviest defeat of Ten Hag’s reign at Old Trafford.

“But we had so many good results in the last weeks and months, so many good performances and this was a really bad performance. And then I talk about the second half because the first half, I think this team, our team, played really well, played really decent.

“I have had some, the bad days, but also there are days where if you do the right things, if you react with the right matches, as a manager and as a team, you can learn a lot from it and you can strengthen your mentality.”

Ten Hag slammed the Man United players for being ‘unprofessional’ in the second half – which resulted in them conceding six goals when that really shouldn’t have happened.
