Concerns Emerge Over Chelsea’s Attacking Woes under Frank Lampard
Chelsea‘s recent slump has been compounded by reports that some players “don’t really know what to do with the ball” and feel there is no tactical structure in attack despite large spells of possession.
These concerning details will only fuel further questions about Frank Lampard, who has struggled to inspire his team this season.
The Blues have lost their last five matches in all competitions, leaving supporters growing increasingly restless about Lampard’s management.

While the club is still in talks with Mauricio Pochettino about taking over in the summer, Chelsea still have six Premier League fixtures to navigate.
According to The Independent, there is word from within the squad that there is currently no tactical structure in attack. “You can see he is the profile of a number nine and we don’t have that in the squad so I did see a difference in that today.”
This news is particularly worrying given that Chelsea’s big-money January signing Mykhaylo Mudryk has failed to find the net in 12 appearances since joining from Shakhtar Donetsk for £88.5m.

Mudryk has struggled to build any momentum due to Lampard’s continued rotation of the side in search of answers.
The lack of a clear tactical plan in attack is only adding to the team’s woes, with players seemingly unsure of how to progress when in possession.
While the prospect of Pochettino taking over offers hope for immediate improvements, the Argentine will have his work cut out trying to turn Chelsea’s fortunes around.
It remains to be seen whether Lampard can rally his troops for the remainder of the season, but the pressure is certainly mounting on the former Chelsea player to deliver results and improve his tactical approach.
