Cole, Ferdinand Speaks On Haaland, Mbappe Reaching Ronaldo, Messi’s Goals Record

Rio Ferdinand and Joe Cole have ruled out any possibility of Manchester City’s Erling Haaland or Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe reaching the goals records of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Infoexpert24 reports that Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 700th career club goal against Everton on Sunday as Man United defeated Everton 2-1.

The 37- year-old Portugal captain is the first football player to reach 700 goals in club football, and he is ahead of Messi, who sits just behind on 691 goals.

Speaking on BT Sport, Cole said of Ronaldo: “It is a massive achievement to do it the way he has done it. Haaland may score as many goals, but will he have the quality? I’m not sure. We won’t see two [Ronaldo and Messi] like this for a very long time.”

On his part, Ferdinand added: “We talk about legends, but none of them sustained this level of greatness for this amount of time. It’s mind-boggling. We are seeing Haaland and Mbappe, but they won’t reach it. It shows you the levels we are talking about.”
