Central Bank of Nigeria Asks Banks To Block Accounts Of 18 Companies (See List)

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has directed banks to place a post-no-debit on the bank accounts of 18 companies.

Infoexpert24 Nigeria understands that the directive was conveyed in a circular signed by Haruna B. Mustapha, CBN’s Director of Banking Supervision, and released on Thursday, August 19.

The affected accounts belong to bureaux de change (BDCs), construction firms, investment companies, laundering services, and property companies.

Infoexpert24 learned that the Central Bank of Nigeria also instructed banks to send details of the accounts.

Infoexpert24 understands that though the reason for the Central Bank of Nigeria decision to block the bank accounts of the companies mentioned above was not stated.
