Cameroon Keeper Onana ‘leaves World Cup’ After Fall-Out With Coach Rigobert Song

Cameroon goalkeeper Andre Onana has left the Indomitable Lions World Cup camp following a fall-out with their coach, Rigobert Song.
Infoexpert24 reports that Onana only played just one group-stage match against Switzerland.
The news came as the team sheets were released and Onana, one of the stars of the squad, was not only left out of the starting 11, but the entire matchday squad, and reports quickly emerged of a falling out with manager Rigobert Song.
The Indomitable Lions are playing against Serbia and as of the time of filing this report, it’s half time and Serbia is leading by 2 -1.

After news was broken by COPE, it’s now being widely reported that Onana and the Cameroon hierarchy have fallen out over their style of play, with the Inter star set to leave Qatar shortly and return home.
It’s said that the Cameroonian coaching staff asked Onana, a known sweeper-keeper who likes to build from the back, to play a more ‘traditional’ role.
However, he refused to change his ways and he has now been removed from their squad for disciplinary reasons.
National hero Samuel Eto’o, now president of the Cameroonian Football Federation, tried to intervene and help both sides come to an agreement, but his efforts proved fruitless.
Onana has been replaced in Cameroon’s starting lineup for their match with Serbia by Devis Eppasy, who plays for Saudi Arabian side Abha.
