Bukayo Saka's Incredible Goal Shines As England Secures Dominant Victory Against Ukraine

On an emotional afternoon at Wembley, England eased past Ukraine with a comfortable 2-0 win in the Euro 2024 qualifier.

Despite much of the build-up being dedicated to the ongoing war in Ukraine, the two teams posed for a photo with a Ukraine flag with ‘PEACE’ written on it, followed by a powerful rendition of the Ukrainian anthem.

It was a friendly atmosphere between the two teams with England largely untroubled, but not in too much hurry to trouble their visitors either.

The difference came late in the first half when Harry Kane scored his 55th goal for his country, before Bukayo Saka curled in a beautiful effort from the edge of the penalty area, giving England the upper hand.

Saka had a fantastic game, continuing his excellent form this season, while James Maddison showed flashes in his first start for England.

Kane, as usual, was the chief threat and was the one who broke the deadlock on 37 minutes with an expertly started and finished move.

With two minutes left in the first half, Saka doubled England’s lead with a wonderful curling effort into the far top corner from the edge of the box.

Ukraine was unable to make an impact in the second half, and England was in no real hurry to push for more goals.

England’s comfortable win will go down well with Gareth Southgate, who has won two games out of two in the qualifying campaign.

The team never conceded a shot on target, and with no changes until the last ten minutes, the home side just held Ukraine at arm’s length, with no real threat to their win.
