Bruno Fernandes Urges Man Utd To Sign Benfica Star Who Could Make Significant Impact At Old-Trafford

Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has expressed his belief that Benfica star Goncalo Ramos possesses the qualities needed to thrive at Old Trafford and make a significant impact in the Premier League.

With manager Erik ten Hag prioritizing the signing of a new striker this summer, Harry Kane remains United’s preferred choice to lead the line in the upcoming season.

However, the club faces stiff competition from Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy, who is determined to retain the England international despite the risk of losing him on a free transfer next year.

While Napoli’s Victor Osimhen also features on United’s shortlist of targets, the 21-year-old Ramos has emerged as an intriguing prospect.

Having enjoyed a breakout campaign for Portugal in the World Cup, where he impressively replaced Cristiano Ronaldo in the knockout stages and netted a memorable hat-trick against Switzerland, Ramos played a pivotal role in Benfica’s success by securing another Portuguese title with 27 goals across all competitions this season.

Fernandes, a key figure at United, believes Ramos is ready to take his career to the next level and establish himself as one of the world’s best strikers.

‘The best always come in handy, be it Gonçalo or another player,’ Fernandes told Sport TV, as reported by A Bola.

‘I think he has all the qualities to play in the Premier League, and when I say Premier League I also mean Manchester United.

‘I think he could become a great reference in the coming years, but it’s still not in my hands to be sports director.’

He continued: ‘Gonçalo has all the conditions to play in the Premier League, he is very intense, presses very well and is very good inside the area.

‘He surprised me in the national team, not only me but the rest of my teammates.

‘He’s physically strong, he’s still young and he’s going to get better.

‘If he continues to work as he has been doing, I think he has the potential to be one of the best strikers in the world, but he needs to go to a more competitive league to prove it.’

If he continues to work as he has been doing, I believe he has the potential to become one of the best strikers in the world. However, he needs to move to a more competitive league to prove his capabilities.”

Fernandes’s endorsement of Ramos as a potential Manchester United signing adds weight to the club’s pursuit of the talented striker.
