Arteta Speaks On Gabriel Jesus Head Injury Ahead of Arsenal Clash With Leeds

Arsenal Boss Mikel Arteta is concerned over the fitness of Gabriel Jesus, who picked up a head injury during Sunday’s match against Liverpool.

The 25-year-old forward started the 3-2 victory against Jurgen Klopp’s side at the Emirates Stadium, which saw Arsenal return to the top of the Premier League.

The Brazil international was caught by a trailing arm from Liverpool defender Kostas Tsimikas, who was trying to get out of the way to avoid stepping on Martin Odegaard, who earlier went down.

Arsenal’s medical staff immediately rushed onto the pitch following the incident after they were called for by concerned players.

Jesus was eventually back to his feet and continued, before being replaced late on by Eddie Nketiah.

Arteta has since revealed the club will carry out further assessments of their star this week before making any further comment.

“I don’t know, I haven’t been with the doctor yet but I’m sure they’re checking him,” Arteta told reporters.
