Arsenal’s Tweet After France Defeated England In The World Cup Angers Fans

Arsenal football club have triggered some fans following their tweet after France’s 2022 World Cup win over England on Saturday.

France, who are the reigning champions set up a crunch quarter-final clash with the Three Lions after their victory over Poland in the round of 16.

And it was Didier Deschamps’ men who came out on top, with Harry Kane missing a crucial penalty in the latter stages of the match.

Aurélien Tchouaméni bagged the opener for France in the 17th minute before Kane drew England level shortly after the break from the penalty spot.

However, Olivier Giroud restored France’s lead in the 78th minute, with Kane missing a glorious chance to equalise for Gareth Southgate’s charges shortly after as the tie ended 2-1 in favour of Les Bleus.

And as has been the tradition among clubs around the world, Arsenal were quick to celebrate William Saliba after France progressed to the semis.

“Our Wilo. A World Cup semi-finalist,” Arsenal tweeted. This is despite the game featuring two other Gunners in the shape of Bukayo Saka and Aaron Ramsdale, who were turning out for England.

And Arsenal’s tweet did not go down well with a section of fans who quickly hit out at the club.
