Arsenal Tipped To Win Race, Sign Casemiro And Rodri-Like Talent This Summer

Arsenal has emerged as the “perfect” destination for Declan Rice, according to former Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood.
Sherwood believes that the talented English midfielder has the potential to reach the level of players like Casemiro and Rodri if he makes the move to the Emirates.
Rice is a highly sought-after target in the transfer market, with Manchester United, Manchester City, and Chelsea also expressing interest in the West Ham captain.

Although the Gunners are considered favorites to secure his signature, West Ham is expected to demand a substantial fee of at least £100 million for his services.
Sherwood insists that it is time for Rice to move on from West Ham and believes that Arsenal would be an ideal destination for his continued development.
The former manager highlights Rice’s qualities, likening him to Casemiro of Manchester United and Rodri of Manchester City, and suggests that a move to Arsenal will further enhance his abilities.

Speaking to William Hill, Sherwood expressed his opinion, saying, “I would be surprised if he was still there [at West Ham] next season.
I think it’s time to do the right thing by the player, and you could say the same thing about Harry Kane. They have been great servants to their clubs, and it’s right for them to move on to progress their careers.”
Sherwood believes that a potential move to Arsenal would be transformative for Rice, stating, “He’d make a real difference. It looks like Granit Xhaka is going to move on with it being the end of his contract, and Declan looks the perfect player to slot into that role and improve it.”

The former Tottenham boss sees Rice as a versatile midfielder who can excel as a number six, just like Casemiro and Rodri.
Sherwood asserts that Rice is next in line behind these world-class players and adds that, despite focusing on defensive duties, he is capable of contributing goals, albeit not as frequently as his counterparts.
With almost 250 appearances for West Ham across all competitions, Rice has become a key figure for the club.
Sherwood believes that the club’s fans would not begrudge him a move to a Champions League side, given his significant contributions.

Sherwood concludes, “West Ham has been brilliant for Declan Rice. They’ve developed him as a player, and he’s done brilliantly.
I think he’s paid them back now, and I don’t even think the West Ham fans would begrudge him a move. If he wants to leave, now is possibly the time, and I believe the club’s hierarchy would do the right thing by him. However, his transfer value will come at a high price, reflecting his true worth.”
