Arsenal Target Makes £25m Contract Decision After Arsenal talks – Romano

A winger Arsenal made contact for ahead of the January window has now signed a new deal to stay with MLS side Orlando City according to football transfer guru, Fabrizio Romano.
Arsenal had been interested in signing Facundo Torres but the winger has now signed a new deal to stay with MLS side Orlando City.
Infoexpert24 recalls that the Evening Standard reported in October 2022 tha Arsenal planned to open talks regarding the Uruguayan.
Those discussions did take place, with Torres himself later confirming contact had been made.

The 22-year-old Orlando City forward told 90min in mid-January: “Orlando City confirmed to me that there was contact with Arsenal, but then I left for the World Cup and I didn’t want to hear about a potential transfer at that point.
“So the conversation stayed there but now that I am back with the team, we will see where the conversation goes.
“I would love to play in Europe,” he continued. “It’s a dream I’ve had since I was a kid.
“At the moment I am focused on Orlando City. But La Liga or Premier League would be my targets, and that’s where the rumours are coming from.
Torres would ultimately remain in Orlando when the January window slammed shut.

Now, according to Fabrizio Romano, he’s poised to put pen to paper on a contract extension in Florida, though his new deal will contain a release clause that lets Arsenal know precisely where they stand.
Arsenal learn Torres release clause
Romano tweeted ‘Facundo Torres will extend the contract’ with Orlando City until 2027. His current deal expires in 2025.
The transfer guru added ‘there will be release clause worth $30m into new contract.’ $30m equates to roughly £25m.
Torres can play on both wings, though as a left-footer, could be viewed as a back-up to Bukayo Saka on the right side if Arsenal go on to act on their interest.
He scored 13 and assisted 10 in 40 appearances for Orlando City last term. He’s begun the new 2023 MLS campaign in fine style, scoring the winning goal in their 1-0 opening victory over New York Red Bulls from the penalty spot.
