Arsenal Fans Fumes As Trossard Goal Controversially Ruled Out By VAR

Arsenal had a goal against Leicester City controversially ruled by VAR following an incident between Danny Ward and Ben White in the first half of the keenly contested game on Saturday.

Leandro Trossard curled home a stunning strike in the 26th minute and thought he had put his side in the lead at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.

However, his strike was scratched off after match referee Craig Pawson overturned the goal following a questionable VAR review.

Trossard’s goal was ruled out because of a foul in the build-up, which saw White tangle with Ward as a corner was swung in.

The Arsenal defender was adjudged to have ‘sustained holding’ on the Leicester goalkeeper.

Needless to say, the decision to overturn the goal angered Arsenal fans on social media.

Below are some of the reactions from Arsenal fans on Twitter:

One Twitter user wrote: “How can you spot Ben White’s hand resting on Danny Ward’s wrist but completely miss Saka being rugby tackled to the floor? I’ve got a few ideas.”

A second tweeted: “That’s a scandalous decision to disallow Trossard’s goal, Ben White literally just stood there and Danny Ward flaps at it.”

A third added: “Corruption at its finest peak. Absolutely shocking.”

A fourth commented: “If that’s a foul, then there’s about 5 or 6 fouls at every set piece that aren’t given in every game.”

Another said: “Completely insane. This happens on every corner kick.”
