Angry Gunners Reacts As Arsenal Set Unwanted English Record, Hand Over Premier League Title To Man City

Furious Gunners fans have taken to social media to air their vexation as Arsenal set unwanted English record and handed the Premier League Title to Manchester City.
Arsenal’s period at the top of the Premier League table across the 2022/23 season is the longest a team has ever spent atop the standings without winning the title.
The Gunners were in inspired form across the first three quarters of the season and, with most of the teams around them faltering, it seemed as though Arsenal were destined to end their long wait for the title.

However, a slip-up in form heading into the final stretch of the season allowed Manchester City to climb back into top spot, and a 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest on May 20 ultimately ensured Arsenal could no longer catch back up.
In total, Arsenal spent a whopping 248 days at the top of the Premier League table this season. Not in the history of English top-flight football has any team been leading for so long without going on to win the whole thing.
While the disappointment of not winning the title is obviously enormous for Arsenal, manager Mikel Arteta has long stressed the importance of looking at the bigger picture and understanding just how emphatically Arsenal have exceeded expectations this year.
Goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale echoed that sentiment after the defeat against Forest, admitting: “It’s hard. All that hard work over months has come to an end today.
We just couldn’t find a way through today, credit to Forest they knew what they needed to do. We struggled to break them down.
“It’s a disappointing end. We have one more game and we need to put a smile back on the fans’ faces.
“We had a few games where we dropped points through individual mistakes, those three or four games is where it’s gone wrong.
“Deep down we know what we have achieved. When the dust settles we will be proud but this is a learning curve for us. It is a season to be proud of for Arsenal Football Club.”

Sorry to say it but this man ain’t taking us places!

The collapse from #Arsenal has been unacceptable. Today we had 82% of possession, 717 passes and only three shots on target, none of which worked Navas. Like last week, we were passive, sloppy, unimaginative and weak; the opposite of what has made us so good this season. #afc pic.twitter.com/wEsm7u4CaE

The only good thing of collapsing like this is that the board will spend money and bring top players or I hope so #Arsenal #COYG

#premierleague23 #arsenal @Arsenal – it’s tough being a Gunners fan. Such a promising season is ending on a faltering premise. Reinforcements a must to build onto this season’s progress. Depth is missing defensively & offensively. At least we finally get a Champions League spot!

ARSENAL prefer to end up misery sooner than later by losing against Nottingham Forest rather than to wait another day in Painfulness and celebrate with fans at home#arsenal

I swear it is the same thing with Arsenal every season, look like we actually might get something significant, lose a key player and then just throw away a couple of games to lose it. Holding is always involved somehow. Man this script hurts. #Arsenal

Arteta and #Arsenal are not winning a single trophy in the next 2 years, if not more. If we see clear improvement and actually competing for the title (unlike this season), then we’re in the right direction and will win eventually. If not, Arteta should definitely be sacked #AFC

You went from 8 points to 4 points off… 12 point swing… bigger fish to fry… alone at the top… only to hand it to City, who didn’t even need to kick a ball to defend their lead…
Bring up all the past catch ups, but this is the worst ever.#Arsenal #premierleague

#Arsenal lost today which means Man City has officially
won the title.I said the league was done back in February when we lost 3-1 at home to them.
Dealing with the bottle job as a fan is one thing, but dealing with everyone’s delusion is another.
I finally rest…
