Chelsea ‘Desperate’ To Offload One of Todd Boehly Big Signing After Disappointing Season

Chelsea is reportedly open to the idea of selling Raheem Sterling, their high-profile signing from last season.
Sterling, who arrived at Stamford Bridge from Manchester City for a fee of £47.5m, could be on his way out if the right offer comes along.
The winger was Todd Boehly’s first major signing as Chelsea co-owner with hopes that his addition would bolster the squad.
However, the team’s performance fell short, finishing the season in 12th place despite Sterling’s contribution as one of the joint-top scorers alongside Kai Havertz, both netting nine goals.
In an attempt to balance the books and avoid Financial Fair Play sanctions, Chelsea is reportedly considering offers for Sterling.
Football Insider suggests that there is interest in the player from Premier League clubs, European clubs, and even Saudi Arabia.
Chelsea has already sold players such as Edouard Mendy and Kalidou Koulibaly to Saudi Arabian clubs, while N’Golo Kante departed on a free transfer.
It remains to be seen if Sterling would consider a move to the Saudi Professional League, as he may still have much to offer in the Premier League.

The asking price for Sterling, who is contracted until 2027, is yet to be determined. At 28 years old, he may not have anticipated his future being in question so soon after leaving Manchester City.
However, if he were to remain at Chelsea, he would miss out on European competitions next season.
The upcoming season will be crucial for Sterling as he aims to secure a prominent role in the England national team for Euro 2024. Consistent form at the club level will be essential, and his destination remains uncertain.

Sterling’s recent comments about Chelsea’s new head coach, Mauricio Pochettino, suggest that he may be willing to stay at the club.
In an interview with Arab News, Sterling praised Pochettino’s leadership qualities and stated that he is the type of manager the team needs.
“He will bring leadership. He will challenge players physically and mentally.
“I feel he is going to come here and he is going to have the personality that everyone is going to respect.
“That’s what we need, someone in charge.
“From his time before at Tottenham, I heard a conversation about him and he’s the exact person we need.”
As the transfer window progresses, it remains to be seen whether Sterling will be part of Chelsea’s future plans or if he will move on to new opportunities. The decision could have significant implications for both the player and the club.
